Update: Grand Central, Erand, and President Park reservoirs
With high demand and limited available capacity on the Midrand Systems, the Grand Central, Erand and President Park systems are impacted.
To manage demand and to provide supply, Johannesburg Water will have to continue to apply aggressive reconfigurations on the Grand Central and Erand reservoirs in order to sustain both systems.
The level of the Grand Central Reservoir was stable overnight. The reservoir is pumping to the tower but will be stopped once the threshold is reached.
The Erand 1 Reservoir level is satisfactory, hence pumping to the tower is in progress. However, pumping could stop once the reservoir threshold is reached.
President Park Reservoir is impacted this morning and is very low. Customers in the supply zone could experience low pressure to no water.
Alternative water can be provided to affected areas upon any confirmation of no water situations.
