Johanessburg Water supplies 1.6 billion litres of potable water daily, procured from Rand Water. The entity also treats 979Ml of sewage per day at its six wastewater treatment works (WWTW), which include two of its biogas-to-energy plants, where methane gas is converted to energy. It employs 2 782 employees and 78 cleaners, and 308 security guards whose salaries are administered by the CoJ.
