Lenasia

Water Interruptions

Lenasia
Please note that the main water pipe supply line to Lenasia High level Reservoir was accidentally hit and as a result water will be closed in order to attend to the burst. Affected areas will be Zakariyya Park, Vlakfontein, Lehae, Lenasia South extension 1 and Hospital Hills. This is the big 450mm diameter pipe and water in the pipeline might take longer before the pipe becomes empty. Residents are therefore urged to keep some water in containers for drinking and other hygiene purposes. Time of completion is not yet established as water is about to be closed and assessment of damages will then commence.

We appeal to all to use water sparingly and to remind them that level one water restrictions are still in place. Watering of gardens is not allowed between 6 am and 6 pm in summer months (1 Sept to 31 March) and furthermore, it is not allowed to wash paved areas and driveway using hosepipes.

Residents are encouraged to subscribe on our website, to our SMS notification service for alerts on planned or unplanned service interruptions. More information can be obtained on twitter: @jhbwater; Facebook: Johannesburg Water and our website.

A technical glitch with the vending system

A technical glitch with the vending system

Media Statement
16 November 2020

A technical glitch with the vending system

Johannesburg Water delivers water and sanitation services to over 5million residents in the seven regions of the City of Johannesburg.

The Entity provides free 6 kilolitres to prepaid and post-paid customers monthly. Post-paid customers’ free 6 kilolitres are credited on their monthly bills and prepaid customers receive their free 6 kilolitres when they buy their first water credit for the month.

It has come to Johannesburg Water’s attention some prepaid customers did not receive the 6kl free water in November 2020 due to a technical problem in the vending system.

This issue has been escalated to the Vending Support Technical team, who are investigating the issue to find a resolution as soon as possible.

Johannesburg Water is committed to resolving this issue with urgency and will advise customers once the issue is resolved. All residents are urged to use water sparingly and remember the City is still under level 1 water restrictions.
