Johannesburg Water has been monitoring the water levels at Randjieslaagte reservoir, since repairs were completed on a 600mm valve on Monday. The reservoir is currently at 2.4m. Several customers continue to experience no water / poor pressure after work was completed. Johannesburg Water has taken the costumer concerns seriously and is being purposeful and thorough in investigating the cause of the problem.

We will shortly receive feedback from the pressure logging on the supply line to the reservoir. Jojos have been placed in affected areas. Johannesburg Water apologises to customers for the inconvenience caused. Further updates will be provided in due course.

#Water supply issues in Lombardy, Alexandra , Kew and surrounds

Over the weekend , Johannesburg Water was attending to a faulty valve before the inlet of the Randjieslaagte Reservoir which affected water supply to the areas fed by the reservoir.

This morning Rand Water will be isolating supply to the reservoir as the 600mm valve needs to be replaced. The depot is sourcing the relevant material at present and draining the line to prepare for excavation. Once the line is drained, the team will commence with the work.

Additional jojos and roaming trucks will be supplying water at critical sites.

The following areas will be affected:

Parts of Glenhazel, parts of Bramley, Lombardy west and east, River park ,Bramley view, parts of Alexandra, Kew, part of Melrose, Corlett Gardens, Sandringham, Rembrandt park, Lyndhurst, Rembrandt ridge, Silvermonte, Fairvale and Glenkey.
