Although water is isolated, the main still has water and is being drained. Fiber lines which were installed above the main have been moved by the responsible fiber company.
We have noted that customers in the affected areas mentioned have not been severely impacted by the shutdown. The suburbs include:
Parts of Rosebank, Melrose, Houghton, Hyde Park, Dunkeld West, Forest Town, Kilarney, Melrose Estate Parktown North, Parkwood and Saxonwold.
Estimated completion time is 10pm.
We appeal to all to use water sparingly and to remind them that level one water restrictions are still in place. Watering of gardens is not allowed between 6 am and 6 pm in summer months (1 Sept to 31 March) and furthermore, it is not allowed to wash paved areas and driveway using hosepipes.
