Recovery of Johannesburg Water Systems
Johannesburg Water (JW) would like to thank the residents of the City of Johannesburg for their unwavering patience throughout the Rand Water planned maintenance.
The JW systems that were affected by the planned interruption have recovered and are currently supplying areas at normal capacity. The expected improvements in reservoir levels should continue during the course of today and estimated to be back to normality within the next 48 hours.
The increase in the average flow into the Rand Water Commando system has shown significant improvement and continues assisting in building capacity into the Brixton/ Hursthill/ Crosby reservoirs.
Alternative water supply is focused on the Hursthill supply zone.
Mobile water tankers are providing water in the following areas:
*Newclare
* Westbury
* Claremont
* Coronationville
* Sophiatown
* Westdene
Johannesburg Water urges customers to continue to reduce consumption as much as possible to assist with recovery of the system.
