Rand Water to reduce load to Eikenhof Pump station

Johannesburg Water (JW) would like to inform residents that Rand Water is reducing the load to the Eikenhof pump station. The reduction will be by 600Ml, which is 50%. This is due to the major leak on the A19 line behind engine room at Vereeniging Purification works. This is one of the lines between the works and Eikenhof pump station.

The reduction will have an impact on JW’s Crosby, Brixton and Hurst Hill reservoirs and can lead to no water in high areas. Rand water will update once they have scoured the line on the damage and how long repairs will take.

The following areas have been affected:

Crosby Reservoir

  • Riverlea and Extensions, Wibsy Dip, Longdale and Extensions, Croesus, Industria and Extensions, Industria West, Bosmont and Langlaagte

Brixton Reservoir and Tower

  • Langlaagte North, Mayfair West, Mayfair, and Extensions, Pageview and Extensions, Vrededorp, Vredepark, Jan Hofmeyr, Auckland Park and Extensions, Hursthill, Cottesloe, Sunnyside, Braamfontein Werf and Uitsaaisentrum.
