Johannesburg Water informs residents that water supply level at Lenasia Cosmos, Lenasia Hospital Hills and Lenasia High level reservoirs are critically low. This is due to closure of water supply to work on the bypass of intake from supply line. Ennerdale is currently standing at 1.2 m. Finetown is feeding from Hospital Hill, which is critical low now. The repairs on the inlet were done in the early hours and it should start picking up. The inlet is open, and these reservoirs will gradually pickup while they are also supplying. Lenasia ext 1 and 2 which are on the direct feed from Gemsbok PRV should have water though pressure is still building up. Customers are urged to use water sparingly as the system recovers.

Johannesburg Water and Authorities search for a Boy who went missing after falling down a manhole
Johannesburg Water (JW) received reports of an incident that occurred in Dlamini Park,Soweto, which resulted in a boy between the ages of 9 and 10 falling down the manhole.
The incident was reported to JW on the 13th June 2022 and alleged to have happened between 15:00 and 16:00 yesterday, 12th June 2022.
The relevant authorities from SAPS and EMS are onsite, carrying out a search to recover the body.
Details on developments will be communicated as the search progresses.
Johannesburg Water pleads with the community to allow the officials to carry out their work and allow the family space during this period.

Rand Water to reduce load to Eikenhof Pump station
Johannesburg Water (JW) would like to inform residents that Rand Water is reducing the load to the Eikenhof pump station. The reduction will be by 600Ml, which is 50%. This is due to the major leak on the A19 line behind engine room at Vereeniging Purification works. This is one of the lines between the works and Eikenhof pump station.
The reduction will have an impact on JW’s Crosby, Brixton and Hurst Hill reservoirs and can lead to no water in high areas. Rand water will update once they have scoured the line on the damage and how long repairs will take.
The following areas have been affected:
Crosby Reservoir
- Riverlea and Extensions, Wibsy Dip, Longdale and Extensions, Croesus, Industria and Extensions, Industria West, Bosmont and Langlaagte
Brixton Reservoir and Tower
- Langlaagte North, Mayfair West, Mayfair, and Extensions, Pageview and Extensions, Vrededorp, Vredepark, Jan Hofmeyr, Auckland Park and Extensions, Hursthill, Cottesloe, Sunnyside, Braamfontein Werf and Uitsaaisentrum.
Hursthill Reservoir 1 and 2

Rand Water’s Meredale pipe burst
Johannesburg Water (JW) would like to regrettable inform customers about a Rand Water pipe that burst. The burst pipe supplies their Meredale reservoir. This will subsequently affect all JW reservoirs supplied from the Meredale reservoir including Kibler Park, Hursthill, Brixton and Crosby systems. The JW Meredale reservoir including Honeydew, Eagles nest and Nature reservoirs are currently critically low.
The following areas have been affected:

2021/2022 Johannesburg Water Customer Satisfaction Survey
Johannesburg Water (JW) rolled out the annual customer satisfaction survey effective from 1st June 2022. An independent research service provider, Molemotheo, has been appointed to conduct this exercise on our behalf.
Through this survey, JW will have an appropriate measure of customer satisfaction (or dissatisfaction) with its water and sanitation services offering to the residents of the City of Johannesburg (CoJ). The survey will also enable us to identify ways in which we can improve our customer experience and pinpoint areas that need improvement, as well as ways in which we can effectively meet the customers’ needs.
