Rand Water maintenance: work at Daleside Booster Station completed

The Rand Water maintenance work at the Zwartkopjes Pump Station and Daleside Booster Station was completed last night. The repairs began on Monday morning, 24 June, at 07:00 and were completed last night.

Zwartkopjes is currently pumping at 80% and it is anticipated that pumping will be at 100% by this evening. Meanwhile, pumping at Daleside tripped last night due to technical challenges, and subsequently, there was no pumping overnight. However, pumping resumed today at 12:00, and it is currently pumping at 50%.

Affected areas include those supplied by the Orange Farm, Ennerdale, and Lawley systems; and residents are experiencing poor pressure to no water. In the meanwhile, arrangements have been made for alternative water supply.

Although the larger Rand Water maintenance has been completed, it will take several days for systems to recover. Residents should start to see an improved water supply by Thursday morning.
