Customer Notice: Commando and Deep South systems
Commando system
Johannesburg Water continues to monitor the Commando System and implement necessary interventions to stabilise the system and ensure fair distribution of water.
Crosby Reservoir
The reservoir is low but supplying fairly. Poor pressure may occur in high-lying areas as the system is constrained due to high demand.
Hursthill 1 and 2 Reservoirs
Both reservoirs are low due to high demand exceeding supply. Measures are being implemented to improve the supply and provide relief to customers. Hursthill 1 is on bypass, while the outlet of Hursthill 2 will be closed overnight to build capacity.
Brixton Reservoir and Tower
The reservoir is low but supplying fairly, while the tower is supplying normally, but can be affected by reservoir low levels. Poor pressure may occur in high-lying areas of the reservoir zone, due to high demand exceeding supply. The outlet will be closed overnight to build capacity.
Deep South system
A trip occured at Daleside Pump Station affecting Orange Farm, Ennerdale and Lawley Reservoirs. The pump station is currently operating at half capacity/ 50% and expected to be back on line this afternoon.
Orange Farm Reservoir
The reservoir is critical low to empty, poor pressure to no water is expected in the supply zone. Improvement is expected overnight, and the outlet will be closed to build capacity.
Ennerdale Reservoir
The reservoir is critical low to empty, poor pressure to no water is expected in the supply zone, and Lawley supply.
Improvement is expected overnight, when the demand subside.
Lawley Reservoir
The reservoir is empty, due to poor supply from Ennerdale Reservoir. Poor pressure to no water is expected in the supply zone. Improvement is expected overnight, and the outlet will be closed to build capacity.
