Rand Water planned maintenance: customers fed by Eikenhof Pumpstation

Johannesburg Water customers will be impacted by a planned Rand Water maintenance to take place from Saturday, 22 June until Monday, 29 July 2024.
The purpose of this preventative maintenance is to ensure that Rand Water’s systems are more efficient and reliable for their customers, such as Johannesburg Water.

During the maintenance period, pumping at Rand Water’s Eikenhof Pumpstation – which feeds several of Johannesburg Water’s systems – will be reduced as follows:
1. 24 – 27 June 2024
Eikenhof will be pumping at 50% for eight hours and 67% for the remaining 64 hours.
2. 26 June – 13 July 2024
Eikenhof will be pumping at 83% for 15 days.

Consequently, the following Johannesburg Water systems will be impacted during the maintenance period: Soweto, Randburg/Roodepoort, Commando, Lenasia, and parts of Johannesburg central (including the Eagles Nest, Crown Gardens, Aeroton, and Alan Manor reservoirs).

Johannesburg Water will make arrangements for alternative water supply at strategic areas like hospitals, clinics, schools, municipal offices, police stations and shopping centres. However, residents are encouraged to store water in preparation for the maintenance.

List of suburbs to be affected.
