Water Interruptions

Load shedding
Eskom has been implementing stage 1 load shedding from 9am this morning. Johannesburg Water (JW) would like to advise residents of the City of Johannesburg to check load shedding schedules for their respective areas on the Eskom website and City Power websites as water supply does get affected by power outages.

We appeal to all to use water sparingly and to remind them that level one water restrictions are still in place. Watering of gardens is not allowed between 6 am and 6 pm in summer months (1 Sept to 31 March) and furthermore, it is not allowed to wash paved areas and driveway using hosepipes.

Residents are encouraged to subscribe on our website, to our SMS notification service for alerts on planned or unplanned service interruptions. More information can be obtained on twitter: @jhbwater; Facebook: Johannesburg Water and our website.

Hospital Hill Reservoir

Water Interruptions

Hospital Hill Reservoir
We are currently experiencing high water usage coming from Lenasia Hospital hill reservoir and the reservoir is currently very low on storage. If the demand doesn’t subside we will close the reservoir to build up storage capacity. Community members are urged to use water sparingly. The chances of closing the reservoir are getting higher as demand increases, we there for ask community members to keep some water in containers for drinking purposes. Affected areas will be Lenasia South except ext 1, portions of hospital hill, Magson Manor and Mountain View.
