Rand water major shutdown

  1. Rand Water Shutdown

Please note that the Eikenhof pump station is in full operation. Our system is slowly recovering. Hursthill reservoirs are 50% opened. Brixton and Crosby reservoirs are fully opened while the Constantia Tower is still empty. We will keep customers updated throughout the day on our social media platforms. Apologies to all areas affected.

Rand Water shutdown

The Rand Water shutdown which was meant to replace the 800mm main valve and bypass valve on the cross connection of the G23 and Q2 pipelines was not successful. This is due to the faulty main isolating valve at the Eikenhof pump station that could not seal properly in order for the valves to be replaced. Please note that the tanks placed over the weekend have been refilled and more are being organised. We will keep customers informed as we get updated.

We appeal to all to use water sparingly and to remind them that level one water restrictions are still in place. Watering of gardens is not allowed between 6 am and 6 pm in summer months (1 Sept to 31 March) and furthermore, it is not allowed to wash paved areas and driveway using hosepipes.
