Pressure reducing valves were being reset in the affected area, which resulted in inconsistent water supply. Water has been restored. Teams are onsite monitoring the sites affected. Johannesburg Water requests customers to report water outages so teams can respond and resolve complaints. Johannesburg Water apologises to customers for the inconvenience caused.

Due to a major burst on an air valve at 3rd Avenue and 9th Road, Kew, water was isolated. Repairs have been completed and water has been restored.

Customers in higher lying areas may experience inconsistent supply as the Hursthill reservoir system is being restored. We urge customers to reduce consumption while the system recovers and report leaks and bursts in the area which may impact on the recovery of the system.

Supply from Eikenhof system was used to supplement the Palmiet system during the outage over the past weekend. Supply from Eikenhof is back to normal capacity. The Hursthill reservoir has been impacted and is in the process of recovering. Customers in higher lying areas may experience inconsistent supply or low pressure as the Hursthill system is being restored. Mobile tankers will be focusing on affected areas during this period. Johannesburg Water apologises to customers for the inconvenience caused.
