[02/09, 11:33] Daily Updates: Lenasia Reservoir

Please be reminded that filling of new Lenasia High Level 15ML reservoir is on going and therefore closing of Lenaisa High Level Reservoir and Lenasia Hospital Hills reservoir between 13H00 and 17H00 will continue.

Affected areas are Zakarya Park, Lehay, Vlakfontein, Lenasia South, Migson Manor and Finetown areas. Residents of the affected areas as highlited above are urged to keep water that they will need during reservoir closures.

[02/09, 11:44] 9 February 2022 JW Update: Monitoring and Recovery of Commando system ( Hursthill, Brixton and Crosby)

Water supply from Rand Water has reached required levels from this morning. Both Crosby and Brixton reservoirs and Brixton Tower are stable at this time. Hursthill reservoir is still building capacity.

The expected improvements in reservoir levels should continue during the course of the next few days.

Alternate water supply will be focused on the Hursthill supply zone that has been negatively impacted.

Johannesburg Water urges customers to continue to reduce consumption as much as possible to assist with recovery of the system.

[02/09, 18:51] 9 February 2022 JW Update: Low pressure parts of Chartwell and Farmall:
Johannesburg Water acknowledges that customers in parts of Chartwell and Farmall are experiencing low water pressure. The team has been onsite to investigate the cause of the problem.

A faulty pressure reducing valve has lowered pressure in the area. The team will attend to the faulty prv.
We have opened an alternate supply to the affected area, which should improve water supply.

Johannesburg Water is aware of no water complaints in the Chartwell area. Teams have been dispatched to investigate the cause of the complaints.

Reoccuring burst near Msawawa settlement: Johannesburg Water teams have investigated, and confirmed a reoccurance of the burst in the veld. The team is currently attending to repairs.

Alternate water supply is being arranged for affected streets.

JW Update: Hursthill Reservoirs

Johannesburg Water is aware of no water complaints in the Melville area. This is due to the Hursthill Reservoir being critically low. The reservoir is currently bypass, however high lying areas are still experiencing intermittent supply.

We have started with arrangements for alternative water supply for affected areas..

Reoccuring burst near Msawawa settlement:
Water has been isolated. We are sourcing materials to complete repairs.
The repairs will commence once materials are delivered to site in the morning.

Alternate water supply has been arranged for affected streets. We continue to refill water tanks during the outage.

No water parts of Craigavon, Maroeladal and Witkoppen: Due to a major burst in Elm str, water has been isolated. The team is onsite attending to repairs.

The affected areas include parts of Craigavon, Witkoppen, Maroeladal.

There is no estimated time to complete repairs at this stage.
