JW Update: Major burst near Msawawa settlement:
The team has located a major burst in the veld close to Msawawa settlement.
Water is being isolated. Excavation will commence tomorrow morning to access damages to the main.
Alternate supply is being made available through water tanks.
Affected areas include parts of Chartwell, Farmall, Broadacres and Kya Sands.
There is no estimated time for completion at this stage.

Reasons: Repairing of a burst pipe on a 600 diameter inlet of Alexander park reservoir.
We appeal to all to use water sparingly and to remind them that level one water restrictions are still in place. Watering of gardens is not allowed between 6 am and 6 pm in summer months (1 Sept to 31 March) and furthermore, it is not allowed to wash paved areas and driveway using hosepipes.
