Hursthill/ Brixton and Crosby Reservoirs
Please kindly note that both Brixton and Crosby reservoirs continue to be stable at this time. The Hursthill system is still at critically low levels. Full recovery will take a few days. Customers in affected areas may experience low pressure or no water while the system recovers.
Affected areas are:
Montgomery Park, Albertsville, Franklin Roosevelt Park, Westbury, Northcliff, Albertskroon, Greymont, Coronationville, Hursthill, Claremont, Newlands, Martindale, Triomf, Montclare, Westdene, Newclare, Delarey, Greenside, Parkview, Melville, Westcliff Auckland Park, Parkhurst, Victory Park Estate, Richmond and Rossmore.
Water tankers are placed at the following areas:
1. Westbury (Recreation Centre)
2. Westdene (Engen Garage)
3. Coronationville (Klavier Street at Old Age Home)
4. Sophiatown at the Flats
5. Brixton at Recreation center
6. Melville at Main and First Street (Shell Garage)
7. Newclare at (Cnr Dowling & Steytler)
8. Claremont at Antoinette Street
9. Claremont (Dannie Van Zyl Recreation center )
10. No 28 Riversdale Street Cnr Harmoney Street
11. Riverlea at (Recreation center)
Mobile water tankers will be available in other areas.
We appeal to all to use water sparingly and to remind them that level one water restrictions are still in place. Watering of gardens is not allowed between 6 am and 6 pm in summer months (1 Sept to 31 March) and furthermore, it is not allowed to wash paved areas and driveway using hosepipes.
