Daily water supply system status updates: Thursday, 26 January 2023 (Morning)

Water supply status update by exception (i.e., areas affected due to supply constraint and not service interruption from occasional pipe burst).

Unplanned Interruptions

1. Infrastructure Update: Monitoring of severely strained systems
Johannesburg Water is monitoring severely constrained reservoirs and towers. Customers can assist by using water for critical needs only at this time. The sustainability of capacity is dependent on water usage during the course of the day.

• Honeydew systems:
Reservoir level is critically low. The tower is stable.

• Parktown 2 reservoir:
Reservoir levels are critically due to higher demand.

• Helderkruin systems:
The reservoir is low.
The tower levels are stable but will be impacted by higher demand.

• Linden systems:
Linden reservoir is low but stable.
Linden tower is stable. Customers are advised to use water sparingly to sustain capacity.

• Hursthill reservoirs:
Both systems remain critically low. Customers in higher lying areas will experience no water/ poor pressure.

• Brixton systems:
The Brixton reservoir is low. The tower is stable however, it is dependent on fluctuating reservoir levels.
• Alexander Park reservoir:
Reservoir levels are critically low.
• Crosby reservoir:
Lower levels are noted. Customers in the reservoir zone are requested to lower water usage.

Further updates will be provided to customers.
