Update: Craigavon water outage

Johannesburg Water teams experienced technical challenges while conducting repairs on the water pipeline. As a result, Craigavon residents are still without supply as the water remains isolated.

Technical teams are working around the clock to complete repairs on the water pipeline.

On Wednesday, 16 August, water was isolated in Craigavon to allow the technical teams to conduct investigations into the reason for the area outage. This followed the planned maintenance which took place on 15 August and affected Witkoppen, Craigavon, and parts of Kengies.

When the water pipeline in the area was opened after the maintenance work, it was found that Craigavon residents were still without water.
Johannesburg Water is providing alternative water supply for residents, prioratising critical customers such as hospitals and schools. The water tankers at Life Fourways Hospital and Crawford Preparatory School have been filled by the entity. Three water tankers are roaming the area.

Tankers have been placed at the following locations:
1. 1x tanker in the open field across from Fernbrook Estate for the lower parts of Craigavon
2. 1x tanker at MacBeth Avenue near Tezula Lifestyle Estate, Fourways

Further updates will be provided to customers.
